Halloween Family Fun Nights at Heritage Museums & Gardens

Sandwich, Mass.— Heritage Museums & Gardens will present Halloween Family Fun Nights on Friday and Saturday, October 28 and October 29 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Tickets are $8/members, $10/non-members, and free for children age two and under. This popular event usually sells out, so advance registration is suggested. To purchase tickets, call 508.888.3300 ext. 108 or register online at www.heritagemuseumsandgardens.org. Heritage is located off Route 6 at 67 Grove Street in Sandwich, Mass.

Heritage’s Halloween Family Fun Nights will feature festive, non-scary holiday activities designed for children of all ages. The Toe Jam Puppet Band will perform a concert with puppets and original Halloween songs, during which the performers will dress kids in kooky Halloween gear and teach them dances like “Do the Frankie” (as in Frankenstein). Participants will also play games, make creature-of-the-night crafts, get temporary tattoos, take spins around the carousel, and tour the Auto Museum, where they can “ride” in the 1913 Model T Ford. Weather permitting, visitors will be able to explore the lighted Hart Family Maze Garden, take a tractor-pulled hay ride around the Parade Field, and play in Hidden Hollow, lighted specially for this event. Treats will be for sale at the museum’s Magnolia Café.

Participants are welcome to dress in costume, but should wear comfortable shoes to walk throughout the event.

About Heritage Museums & Gardens
Founded in 1969, Heritage Museums & Gardens is a place that celebrates American culture and inspires lifelong learning by sharing excellence in horticulture, garden design, and the exhibition of great collections. Heritage is located on 100 acres of gardens and nature trails on the banks of Shawme Pond in historic Sandwich; it is the largest public garden in southern New England. In addition to the magnificent grounds, known for their encyclopedic collections of daylilies, hostas and hydrangeas, the estate holds a nationally significant collection of Dexter rhododendrons, specialty gardens, water features, and sculpture. Hidden Hollow, a new family-friendly feature, is a place for exploration of the natural world and learning about environmental stewardship. Heritage also offers three buildings housing permanent exhibits of world-class automobiles, American folk art, historical artifacts, a working carousel, and changing special exhibits on aspects of American culture.
