SUMMARY:Gardening from Scratch: Practical Tips for the Beginner
DESCRIPTION:In response to program attendee feedback, Heritage is partnering with the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod to offer a program designed especially for beginner gardeners.\nJoin Master Gardener Steven Flack for an engaging presentation that will provide a baseline approach for practical gardening on Cape Cod, including steps for planning, preparing, and implementing a starter garden. Steven will also explore a variety of garden configurations, from in-ground to raised bed and container formats.\nThere will be plenty of time for questions and discussion and you’ll receive reference materials during the presentation.\nThis program will take place rain or shine, and will be held fully indoors inside the Heald Center at the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery.\n \nAbout The Master Gardener Association\nThe Master Gardener Association, working in partnership with the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension of Barnstable County, is comprised of approximately 200 certified Master Gardeners throughout Cape Cod.  Each certified gardener has completed a rigorous training program and is dedicated to sharing science-based horticultural knowledge with gardeners, landscapers, commercial growers, and anyone on Cape Cod and the Islands with an interest in or reliance on horticulture, whether for leisure or livelihood.\nThe Association actively raises funds annually to support scholarships for students studying horticulture-related fields at universities. Their primary fundraising event is the Master Gardener Plant Sale, held each spring at the Barnstable Fair Grounds. In addition, the Master Gardeners operate a free horticultural hotline to answer plant and soil questions and offer free soil testing and disease diagnostics for problematic plants.\nProgram fees fund Heritage’s mission to inspire people of all ages to explore, discover, and learn together. Thank you for your support. Program Registration Fee: $25 Members, $30 Non-Members\nLocation: Check in at the Ticketing Pavilion\n
