SUMMARY:Hydrangeas 101
DESCRIPTION:This program is now sold out. Thank you to all who purchased!\nThe information presented in this session is intended to provide a foundation for those seeking to learn about our much-loved Hydrangea genus. Linda Coven, expert guest instructor and owner of Strictly Hydrangeas, will share the details of each of the six major species of hydrangeas. She’ll discuss not only specific characteristics like blossom composition but will also focus on the significant definitive differences between the species – including plant form, leaf shape, texture and color, stem features and bud details – so that you may more readily identify the hydrangeas in your garden. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be better able to appreciate the often subtle but critical cultural issues related to caring for these plants, including those that will be presented in subsequent Heritage hydrangea program sessions like Pruning Step 1, Pruning Steps 2 & 3, and Planting and Replanting.\nWhile this program is principally directed to the newer hydrangea enthusiast, it may be a worthwhile refresher for the more senior gardener as well. Repetition can provide powerful reinforcement!\nThis session will be held at the Heald Center inside the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery. If the weather cooperates, we’ll venture outside into the nearby gardens to examine hydrangea species up-close in their late winter dormancy mode. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion, and you’ll also receive a PDF file containing presentation content via email for your reference. Advance registration is required, and we expect this program to sell out quickly.\nProgram fees fund Heritage’s mission to inspire people of all ages to explore, discover, and learn together. Thank you for your support.\n
