Driven to Collect is located in the Automobile Gallery, which is a reproduction of the Round Stone Barn at Hancock Shaker Village. Learn more about the cars in Heritage’s antique automobile collection.
Driven to Collect showcases Heritage’s permanent collection of antique and classic automobiles with a whole new look, plus a carload of interactive fun! Discover how Heritage founder Josiah K. Lilly, III collected American automobiles in much the same way as collectors assemble their collections. All have great passion for the objects they collect and some have a desire to share their collections with others. What Americans collect says a lot about our culture. What people of other cultures collect similarly defines their shared experiences.
Driven to Collect features the fine cars in the Heritage collection, including a 1910 Sears Model P Surrey, a 1915 Stutz Bearcat, a 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster, and a 1909 White Steam Car Model M owned by President Taft. In addition, the Collector’s Corner features autos on loan from private collectors. This year’s Collector’s Corner contains a 1965 Cadillac with 1,700 original miles, a 1964.5 Mustang Convertible, and a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT350 from collector David Aiken.
