We are following all of the Massachusetts guidelines for businesses and interactions with the public. Heritage will post COVID-19 updates throughout the year per the latest news from the State House.

COVID-19  visitor guidelines

  • All visitors and staff over the age of 5 must wear a mask or face covering unless medically exempt

  • Purchase tickets online before arrival
  • Visitors and employees must abide by social distancing protocols of at least six feet between individuals

What is open

  • All gardens and outdoor spaces are open to the public with reduced capacity

  • The J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery featuring the From Carriage to Classic exhibit

  • The Special Exhibits Gallery with the Let’s Play exhibit
  • The Magnolia Cafe

  • The Shop at Heritage
  • Transportation for those with disabilities or needing assistance

  • Restrooms at the entrance, in the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery & at the Magnolia Café. Portable restrooms available at the back of the property by the entrance to Hidden Hollow.

What is closed

  • American Art & Carousel Gallery including the Carousel

Limitations at open areas

  • Please note that there are some limitations on the open areas of Heritage
  • Capacity management in indoor and outdoor areas; including, but not limited to the Treehouse & Hidden Hollow, indoor gallery spaces, The Shop at Heritage and on the transportation carts

  • Reduced hands-on interactive materials provided in Hidden Hollow, and in the galleries

  • Visitors should practice social distancing of 6 feet apart in all areas of Heritage Museums & Gardens, including at eating areas and while queuing.

Heritage prevention efforts

  • Hand disinfecting stations placed throughout the grounds

  • Routine cleaning and disinfecting of common surfaces such as: transportation carts, handrails, restrooms, and all interactive exhibits
  • All staff members will be adhering to all state-mandated sanitation practices, completing daily health self-checks, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing.
  • Monitoring and limiting crowd sizes for indoor and outdoor areas
  • Collecting visitor information for contact tracing if needed

Programs, classes and events

  • Heritage is offering a variety of virtual programs to supplement the onsite programs.
  • The 2021 Auto Show is scheduled for June 12, 2021

  • Heritage will be adding or removing events and programs as the state regulations change throughout the year
