In this year of exceptions and firsts delivered by an unwelcome and continuing pandemic, two longtime local venues are going all out to make sure that holiday visitors will be able to revisit and renew familiar holiday traditions in ways that are both safe and fun.

This weekend, Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich and Highfield Hall & Gardens in Falmouth are rolling out their annual holiday events. Both are full of seasonal sights, sounds, color and activities, both indoors and out.

Officials from the two organizations have taken great care to meet health protocols, with face-mask requirements, social distancing guidelines and limited-number, timed entry ticketing.
