We are pleased you have selected Heritage Museums & Gardens for your photography session. Our picturesque grounds provide the perfect backdrop for your special moments. We are thrilled to offer a range of photography packages tailored to meet your needs and ensure an unforgettable experience.

Photography sessions including subjects posing against the backdrop of Heritage Museums & Gardens-whether for engagements, weddings, family portraits, school pictures, or other special occasions, must secure a reservation for their session, regardless of whether the photographer is an amateur, student, or professional.

We ask you to join us in protecting Heritage Museums & Gardens by adhering to the following photography guidelines. These guidelines are intended to ensure your safety, the safety and enjoyment of others, and the preservation of our living and non-living collections. Heritage Museums & Gardens is happy to provide the setting for personal portraits, student and non-profit photography, commercial photography, and film shoots with the following rules outlined below.

Third Party Activity Policy

Photography sessions are available during our regular business hours, from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Sunday. However, private photography sessions before 10 am or after 5 pm may be arranged depending on the season and access to gardens and galleries. Wedding group photography typically occurs after business hours, and specific locations are subject to approval. To schedule a portrait photography session, a minimum of two weeks’ notice is required.

During daytime sessions, portrait photography is permitted outdoors on the pathways of our picturesque gardens and grounds. For early morning and evening private sessions, access to indoor galleries is granted, with pre-determined locations agreed upon in advance via email, Manager of Groups Sales & Functions.

Additionally, all photography is at the discretion of Heritage Museums & Gardens. All participants in portrait photography must pay the regular admission fee. For questions about portrait photography, please contact jlepage@heritagemuseums.org.

Third Party Activity Policy

All commercial photography and videography is prohibited at Heritage Museums & Gardens unless arranged in advance with the Manager of Group Sales and Functions. Commercial photography and videography encompass various forms, including but not limited to: display advertising, television commercials, feature films, music videos, retail products, brochures, product literature, annual reports, training videos, award presentations, instructional videos, business websites, non-macro stock photography for sale, model portfolios, and other industrial, promotional, or advertising projects. Drone photography falls under commercial photography and necessitates a permit.

Advertising agencies, public relations firms, marketing groups, corporate communications offices, commercial photographers, location scouts, and any other entities seeking to conduct commercial photography or video shoots at Heritage Museums & Gardens should contact the Manager of Group Sales & Functions at jlepage@heritagemuseums.org

Third Party Activity Policy

Student photographers/videographers (from high school, college, or university) and non-profit organizations are held to the same standards as commercial projects. These entities are required to reach out to the Manager of Group Sales and Functions at least two weeks prior to their proposed project for authorization. Approval for projects will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Manager of Group Sales & Functions at jlepage@heritagemuseums.org two weeks in advance for project authorization. Projects will be approved on a case-by-case basis. All approved applicants will receive a 15% discount on the session rate.

• Limit your presence on the grounds to the hours between 10am and 5pm, unless you have received approval for a private session.
• Enter and exit through the main entrance and check in at the Admissions Booth (refer to the map).
• Show respect towards other visitors and Heritage Museums & Gardens staff.
• Yield areas to other visitors, staff, and volunteers.
• Stick to paved, gravel, or mulched pathways at all times.
• Utilize designated bathrooms for changing clothes, applying makeup, or setting hair.
• Keep makeup cases, shoulder bags, props, and photo equipment with you at all times.
• Dispose of all trash in designated trash cans throughout the gardens, galleries, and parking lots.
• Maintain appropriate attire at all times, including photographers and models.
• Avoid wearing bathing suits or overly suggestive clothing.

• Blocking gateways, pathways, entrances, or exits.
• Placing equipment or models in locations that hinder access or impede other visitors’ views of exhibits and gardens.
• Walking, standing, or placing equipment in planted areas.
• Disturbing or moving potted plants or signs.
• Removing flowers, leaves, or any parts of the living collections.
• Touching collection items in gallery spaces.
• Climbing on walls, railings, or fountains.
• Attaching, draping, leaning, or hanging props, clothing, or other items on trees, plants, statues, etc.
• Interfering with fountain valves, water supply lines, lighting fixtures, or electrical lines.
• Bringing fans, radios, televisions, or playing music.
• Operating drones on the property.
• Arranging outside food deliveries.
• Bringing animals (except for service dogs).
• Smoking or vaping anywhere on Heritage Museums & Gardens property.
• Bringing items such as live plants, flowers, flower petals, rice, glitter, paint, flares, smoke bombs, balloons, or any materials that leave residue.
