Don’t forget! The Sandwich Police Department will be hosting their annual Trunk or Treat here at Heritage on Sunday, October 27, from 11 am-1 pm. No ticket required!

Heritage Museums & Gardens is the place to be for Halloween fun in the Sandwich community! We are proud to continue our collaboration with our partners from the Sandwich Public Schools to put on a spooktacular (but not too scary) family festival.

Program Registration Fee: Everyone ages three and over: $10; Children 2 and under: Free (Note that it is required to register for tickets for children 2 and under even though there is no charge for the tickets in order to provide an accurate count of event attendance.)

This event serves as an important fundraiser for the Sandwich Middle High School (SMHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), the SMHS Senior and Junior Classes, and the SMHS National Art Honor Society.

Purchase tickets for these additional activities at the event (cash and cards accepted). Ticket proceeds directly support the SMHS Junior and Senior Classes, and the SMHS National Art Honor Society. All ticketed activities areled by SMHS student and parent volunteers.

  • Advance ticket purchases are required. Online ticket purchases are strongly advised. All timeslots will sell out quickly, and walk-up ticket sales are not guaranteed at the door. All tickets are date and time specific, and attendance is limited to provide a safe, high-quality experience for all. Tickets for this fundraising event are non-refundable, and are only valid for the date and entry time for which they are purchased.

    The Sandwich Halloween Festival takes place in all weather conditions. The event has been planned to ensure ample opportunities for fun even in inclement weather! Tickets are non-refundable. A night of the event will only be canceled if a major weather event presents a risk to safety (for example, during severe storms with high winds). Visitors should check www.heritagemuseums.org for updated information about any closures. Updates will also be posted to Heritage’s Facebook page, and a message will be recorded on our voicemail, which can be heard by calling 508-888-3300.

    If a night of the event must be canceled due to severe weather or other emergency, ticket holders will be notified of the cancellation via email and will be automatically refunded. Refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled due to severe weather or other emergency. We regret that dates canceled due to severe weather or other emergencies are not able to be rescheduled.

The event includes both indoor and outdoor elements. Outdoor activities include the Dance Party with DJ Ooch, the Halloween PlaySpace with lawn games and giant building blocks, fire pits, and the Haunted Maze. In the event of inclement weather, the Dance Party with DJ Ooch will move indoors. You will also be outdoors when traveling between the two indoor locations, the Automobile Gallery and the American Art and Carousel Gallery, so please dress for outdoor weather conditions and wear comfortable, weather-appropriate footwear. The guest pass that accompanies certain membership levels is only valid toward general admission for the main season which runs from April 20 through October 20, 2024. It is not valid for the Sandwich Halloween Festival, which is a special, ticketed event.

As some of the activities are located outdoors and the event takes place in all weather, please dress for outdoor weather conditions ─ including raingear if the weather looks wet ─ and wear comfortable footwear. Costumes are optional, but welcome!

Yes, Heritage Museums & Gardens is accessible to visitors with disabilities. There are spaces reserved for handicapped parking. Buildings are wheelchair accessible and accessible restrooms are available. While most of the route is level or gently sloping, a few areas are more steeply graded and are marked on the map available here or upon entry. The main pathway is paved. Optional paths with crushed shell or woodchipped surfaces are also marked on the map but may not be navigable by all wheelchairs. Complimentary transportation between fixed stops is available for visitors with mobility challenges.

A limited quantity of wheelchairs can be borrowed at the ticket booth and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are accepted.

Yes! However, priority is given to visitors with mobility challenges on our complimentary transport cart. There are fixed stops throughout the grounds. The transport cart must navigate busy walkways so wait times may reach up to 30 minutes. Please note that transport does not provide tours of Heritage Museums & Gardens.

Yes, main pathways through the event and buildings are accessible by stroller. Optional paths with crushed shell or woodchipped surfaces are also marked on the map available here but may not be navigable by all strollers. Strollers are allowed inside gallery spaces but note that there are designated stroller parking areas conveniently located outside of the two gallery buildings for your convenience and to reduce congestion in busy areas.

We are excited to be building a new Welcome Center! While you will notice construction upon parking and entering, please note that this will not affect the program.

Sorry, pets are not permitted at Heritage. Registered service animals are welcome throughout Heritage Museums & Gardens at all times.

Yes! Holiday treats, light meals, snacks, and hot and cold drinks are available for purchase at Lilly’s Café.

No, The Shop at Heritage will not be open for this event but will be open for the Gardens Aglow event in November and December. Check the website for details!

Yes, photography is permitted for personal, non-commercial use. Photos may be taken with cell phones or hand held cameras. The use or tripods or monopods is permitted only outdoors and must be out of the way of transport or maintenance vehicles and is not allowed on pathways or in garden beds.
